Ummm...first of all, what happened to the oekaki category? Did I just miss it? This new version of dA is so...meh.

Anywho, this is that famous scene. The one for which I can never do justice. I felt that this attempt was fairly successful though. It's just such a complicated, emotionally charged moment.

wow...that's really beautiful. You captured the emotion so well.

I'm so glad you drew them as they might actually be if they were real people; it makes the piece more "human", if you know what I mean :o

I never played the game, but ... I get a sense of what's going on anyway. Neat. I love the way you draw arms ...
This has some odd, but refreshing colour picking. I like.
Also, the way her hair falls - irresistable.

Oh and psst ... the oekaki category is under both cartoons/comics and anime/manga sections now.

Also: I think you mistyped the link to oekakicentral. :)

Gorgeous! i love Aeris's face and Clouds expression - done beautifully!! Well done :D And plus, I think it's worth faving also just to see a cloud with better hair :D great work!

its really good, clouds hair is a bit flat on one side...but its good, your work reminds me of Schiele's work...
although his work is quite abstract....anyways nifty pic :)

To be compared to Schiele, that's a great compliment. Thank you.

I think that Cloud's hair is one of the aspects of drawing this scene that I always struggled with. If I was to draw it exactly the way it's supposed to look (with spikage everywhere), I think that it would only result in making him look clownish. Anyway, I took artistic liberty and applied only what was necessary to convey his character.

Let's say that the weight of what's just happened is affecting everything.

Thanks so much! The categories just seem so strange to me now. They don't really break up the way that they're supposed to...

Fixed the link too!

I new that drawing this, even nine years after the game came out, there would be those who hadn't played it, so I've refrained from saying anything in particular. I'm glad you can read into it anyway.
