Ballpoint Pen on Paper
9" x 12"
(enhanced in Photoshop)
I drew this in my sketchbook at Life Drawing tonight. In retrospect, I probably should have doodled some of my little "sexless girlcreatures" around the figure, but for some reason I didn't think about it until it was too late. I'm pretty happy with the mood though. Courtney is always a good model for angsty, classic poses.
I also thought I'd mention that the creme color is a wash I did in Photoshop, so this has been digitally modified.
Well...when you take a Life Drawing class, drawing nudes just sort of comes with the territory ^__^.
But, I do like getting people down to their skins. I feel that it's a more honest and accurate portrayal of people than when you have to cover them up with clothing. What you show, what you don't show, tells a lot about your subject.
It applies in my little androgynous nudes because I see them as being very innocent and unassuming. Their counterparts conversely, who are clothed, are overly critical of themselves and others.
like it! it's amazing,.. allthough one thing,.. and this might be just me, but does it look a bit flat? (not much depth when it comes to the front leg and the hand,.. it feels like something is missing.. )
your very talented,.. i wish i could paint and draw like you

Now, I'm saying too much.
But, it's really nothing special. I'm just cross-hatching in shadow shapes. Anyone can draw like this with enough patience and practice.
Although, it does require an instructor beating you over the head at times when you screw up, but other than that...

That was quite enlightening and explains a lot. Thank you for taking the time to share that.
