Hyuugas Neji and Hinata about to beat some sense into someone. I can think of one or two people...

EDIT: So like, just for future Hyuuga attempts, I need to know how people are reading their eyes in this image. Do they have a dead quality? Or do they convey determination and awareness (which is what I was really going for)?

the colors have a nice feel to them, but the eyes seem a bit lifeless

Hmmm...Are you familiar with Naruto? It's one of the traits of this family - to have white, almost lifeless eyes.
:iconankooo:
I'm not a huge fan of Hyuuga family, but you turn Neiji and Hinata interesting :D They seem to be older, don't they? ;D
Colors are really great (especially on the skin *_*), and the compo is nice =)

I definitely wanted them to look older in this piece. I think that it's important that, as they gain in maturity, they'll become more determined to grasp their own futures. There's a hopefulness there.

I'm also just really drawn to Hinata. I'm interested in how she's dealt with her life and her supposed shortcomings. But, she has an intense strength to her and a serious fire covered by that quiet exterior. I picture her being a little more comfortable with this aspect of herself in the future.

As long as Kishimoto plays his cards right.

Neji has already made a lot of positive discoveries about himself and the people around him. I'm just exploring that a little bit more...

BUHBUHBUHBEAUTIFUL. <3

I CAUGHT A LIVING FOSSIL! I didn't know they really existed.
:iconmellidere:
yeah, they have pale eyes, but they usually exhibit some signs of life...like you can usually tell they are round like eyeballs with some sort living expression and usually have pupils too if I recall. Not to poke you or anythin cause the hands and all were really good, but those eyes are downright zombie-ish

Well, I may have to add an edit in my comments and see if anyone else reads it that way. I actually did describe Hinata's pupils, but I let Neji's recede in the space.

I'm also simply of the opinion that you express more with the area surrounding the eyeball, such as lid and brow and underside, than with the eyeball itself. Unless you're showing dilated qualities, or something. But this image is too small for me to be worried about something like that.

I will make note of your concern though. Let's see if I can't get a few second opinions on this subject...
:iconsavethequeen:
I agree. I've always thought that it was the area around the actual eye that dictates a person's expression. Because of the eyebrows they do look determined. The clenched fist helps make them look united with a common goal, as well. May I just say that this is really a beautiful picture? I love your art style so much. Great job :)

If I can be with you when the world ends, that'll be enough for me!

I feel that in the top figure that the feeling of determination is definitely starting to evolve. I know you can push it a bit further to get the end result you are going for. The lower figure; however, I read as exactly what you do not want. I get a glazed, almost non coherant look from this figure. This effect could just be because of how the brow bone is coming down in addition to surrounding shadings but I think if you tweak it just a bit, it will be moreso like the top figure and get the feeling of what you were going for.
